EPS waste is collected, sorted and cleaned to guarantee quality materials.
At Polyvert, we offer pelletizing and extrusion services for expanded polystyrene (EPS), polypropylene (PP) and expanded polypropylene (EPP).
We use ground EPS, PP and PPE to produce regrind.
We also offer a grinding service for HDPE, enabling customers to recondition this material themselves afterwards.
Polyvert supplies regranulated PS, PP and PPE, ready to be transformed into new products.
Our regranulated materials are rigorously laboratory tested to ensure that they meet the desired properties.

The granulation process is an essential part of expanded polystyrene recycling. It involves transforming EPS waste (offcuts, used packaging, non-conforming products, etc.) into granules, which can then be reused in new manufacturing processes. Granulation takes place in several stages:
EPS waste is collected, sorted and cleaned to guarantee quality materials.
We use ground EPS, PP and PPE to produce regranulated material.
We also offer a shredding service for HDPE, enabling customers to recondition this material themselves afterwards.
The particles are heated and melted, then pressed through a die to form granules. These granules are then cooled and solidified.
The resulting granules are reusable raw materials, ready to be incorporated into new EPS products or even mixed with other plastics in manufacturing processes. This process is important for sustainability initiatives, as it enables EPS waste to be recycled while limiting its environmental impact.

Here’s how EPS extrusion works:
Polystyrene, often in pellet or bead form, is fed into an extruder.
Under the effect of heat and pressure, EPS melts and is transformed into a malleable paste.
Once the material has been melted, a blowing agent is added, causing the material to expand to form a dense foam. This expanded mixture is then forced through a die to obtain a specific shape.
The extruded material is cooled, solidifying and stabilising it in its final form.
Extrusion is used to produce EPS sheets, panels or profiles for a wide range of applications, from thermal insulation to the packaging of fragile products. The process ensures controlled density and strength, adapted to the specific needs of each application.
