Processes and expertises

Toolmaker

High-precision moulds and accessories are machined in our specialised workshops. Initial mould design is the critical step in producing quality parts throughout the mould’s useful life. Polymos Group guarantees the longevity and performance of the moulds produced by its team.

To ensure optimum performance, tooling design is carried out in conjunction with production engineering and quality control specialists.

Machining center

Our CNC machining centers enable us to rapidly manufacture the high-precision components required for mould construction.

Programming

To ensure fast, efficient execution, our programmers work in synergy with the designers right from the start of a project. This optimises the machining process and reduces tooling manufacturing costs.

Ongoing maintenance

Polymos’ production equipment is maintained on an ongoing, preventive basis. This process ensures the quality of finished products and reduces the risk of delays caused by unforeseen breakdowns.

Prototyping

This stage can be carried out in a number of different ways, depending on customer requirements: Conventional manufacturing, CNC machining, experimental casting and 3D printing, where possible. Prototypes allow us to check the 3Fs “Fit / Form / Function” and make any necessary modifications before production.

Modelling

Forming, moulding and stamping: Proven expertise
Moulds, thermoforming and patterns at our Sherbrooke plant

Thanks to the Moules Simco plant in Sherbrooke, we prepare moulds, casting patterns and composite moulds in our workshop according to the rules of the art. Our specialised workforce brings meticulous care to the execution of the work, all according to the customer’s needs and requests.

The design and manufacture of moulds, patterns and core boxes are services performed at our plant from a drawing or part. Whether it’s a part or a mould for small or large production runs, the product will be created by our team of modelers with meticulous skill and dexterity:

We can also produce templates for cutting your various products.

Jigs and dies

Dies and jigs are designed by our skilled workforce to meet the highest industry standards. To achieve this, our finishing team is constantly improving techniques and materials. This ensures that our products are of the highest quality, every time.

We can produce small or large dies in Quebec City. We also serve the Quebec City, Lévis, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières and Montreal regions. Our concern for quality and dimensional accuracy will ensure the delivery of a quality product. Whether you need a wood, plywood, MDF, multi-composite or RenPaste die, our experienced finishing team will produce dies that exceed standards (A/B/C grit 80-2000+).

RENPASTE®

A useful machinable paste

For several years now, the Moules Simco plant has been able to offer its customers seamless dies thanks to machinable paste. Among other things, this enables us to produce very high quality dies of any size. They are stronger, join faster, lighter and often less expensive.

Thanks to the many advantages of extruded dough, the dies formed from it enable us to offer our customers a top-quality product.

CNC machining in Sherbrooke

State-of-the-art technology

Thanks to an investment of over a million dollars in recent years, we are now in a position to meet demand. We produce 3-axis and 5-axis numerical control dies, moulds and prototype parts from small to very large formats, in a wide range of materials including:

Moules Samco, a member of the Polymos Group, uses the materials and types of machining best suited to the parts and needs of its customers. Our CNCs enable us to produce a multitude of parts of varying dimensions. Whether your project involves 3-axis or 5-axis numerical control, we can offer you a product that meets your dimensional control requirements.
